May 21–23, 2026

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am very pleased to invite you to the International Conference “Tuberous sclerosis complex and other neurocutaneous conditions,” which will be held on May 21–23, 2026 in Warsaw.

Neurocutaneous diseases constitute a group of rare diseases, often genetically determined, the most common of which are tuberous sclerosis complex, neurofibromatosis type 1, and Sturge-Weber syndromes. However, considering the number of these diseases, it can be assumed that there are approximately 750,000 people in Europe with such a diagnosis.

These conditions are characterized by the co-occurrence of neurological and skin symptoms and the development of numerous tumors of various locations, creating diagnostic and treatment problems and requiring the cooperation of many specialists.

Advances in genetics mean that the role of precision medicine and targeted therapy is becoming more and more important also in the case of these diseases.

In the case of tuberous sclerosis complex, the progress of knowledge has been particularly rapid in recent years — new diagnostic criteria, the discovery of mTOR inhibitors, and the introduction of epilepsy prevention into clinical practice placed this disease in the center of attention at the conference. However, new therapeutic options for NF-1, Sturge-Weber syndrome, and other neurocutaneous diseases will also be presented.

The previous such conference was organized in Warsaw in 1995, with the participation of, among others, Vincent Riccardi, Suson Huson, and Manuel Gomez enjoyed great interest. I am convinced that this event, with the participation of many experts, will enable the exchange of knowledge and contribute to improving the care of patients with tuberous sclerosis complex and other neurocutaneous diseases.

I invite you to actively participate by submitting your own reports.

See you in Warsaw!
